¤ About Us

We are one of the pioneer families in promoting Nepalese & Tibetan Handicrafts. Our family has been engage in aiding the historical culture of Nepalese & Tibetan Handicrafts for 3 generations now. We have been exporting Nepalese & Tibetan craft items to European and US market for many years. You can visit our website at http://handmadenepal1.tripod.com

Initially, our family started this business with Copper Statue crafting through the process of Loss-wax method. The statue crafting profession was pass on to us by our ancestors from Shakya clan who have learn this method of statue crafting from Tibet during their frequent trade-visit in the ancient past. The dharma teachers promoted this culture of statue making in Buddhist monasteries during their leisure times in Ancient Tibet. But, again, if we look into a further depth of the history, we will find that Statue crafting culture was first initiated in Ancient Nepal itself. This culture of Statue crafting was adopted into Tibetan Culture by Nepalese Artists who went to Tibet along with Nepalese Princess Bhrikuti (Green Tara) when she got married with the then very strong Tibetan King Tsong Zong Gampo.

Since few years now, we have stated to form an association for the crafting families in Nepal which will work towards to promote their products among our clienteles. Our people are collecting information on crafting families and their craft items all over Nepal and bringing them to our network.

In this endeavors, we have come across many crafting families and a village communities which were in dire straits without consistent market for their product. This is when, we have come together to promote their product for their daily livelihood with our other crafting committee members. In the process, we have also established a paper crafting workshop which will work towards concept designing for crafting different stationery items and other daily amenities in Lokta paper. At present, we have 15 crafting people who are directly involve in this workshop beside other 20 – 25 paper crafting families who work with us on contract basis. You can view our Lokta paper items at
